  • Students from Columbia Public Schools and surrounding Boone County school districts who plan to attend college, trade school, or a certification program. 


  • Youth enrolled in homeschool, GED programs, or alternative education settings such as the P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Center’s Active Learners Day Program. 


  • Individuals from families facing poverty, unemployment, housing instability, or other socioeconomic challenges that limit access to opportunity. 


  • Young people who demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, or involvement in programs that strengthen their communities.


 

  • Tuition Assistance: Helps cover tuition costs for college, trade schools, or certification programs.
     
  • Books and Supplies: Provides funding for textbooks, tools, uniforms, laptops, and other essential materials.
     
  • Testing and Application Fees: Assists students with ACT/SAT testing costs, trade school applications, or credentialing fees that often create barriers to enrollment.

 

Additionally, donations help maintain the wraparound support that makes the Bulldog Scholarship unique. Funds support:


  • Career and financial literacy workshops hosted through the P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Center.
     
  • Social-emotional learning and life skills coaching to ensure scholars succeed beyond academics.
     
  • Professional mentorship connections that pair students with community leaders, business owners, and college mentors.


Yes. A small portion of donations sustains the Foundation’s ability to operate efficiently and equitably.


  • Scholarship Committee and Review Process: Covers outreach, application review, and award ceremonies.
     
  • Outreach and Community Engagement: Supports marketing, public awareness, and youth recruitment across Columbia and Boone County.
     
  • Evaluation and Reporting: Ensures accountability through progress tracking and annual impact reports shared with donors and community partners.


 

A percentage of contributions is allocated to a sustainability fund that ensures the long-term viability of the Bulldog Scholarship Foundation. This endowment will:

  • Provide annual interest-based funding for future scholarships.
     
  • Reduce dependence on short-term fundraising.
     
  • Allow the Foundation to expand the number of recipients each year.


The Foundation operates under the fiscal management of the P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Center for Youth, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Annual reports and financial summaries are made available to donors and community stakeholders to ensure integrity and accountability in all spending.


Yes, P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Bulldog Foundation accepts donations in kind such as new clothing, non-perishable food items, and household goods. Please check our website for a list of items we accept.
